How it works
When a voice message arrives, Tailwind Inbox transcribes it. The text appears below the recording; you can still play it. No forwarding, no bot in your chat.
The transcript also shows in the push notification, so you know what it's about from the lock screen.
Swiss German, too
Voice messages in Swiss German are written out as readable standard German. Messages in English or other languages stay in their language.
Privacy
For transcription the recording is sent to OpenAI (USA); we don't store the recording itself. The transcript stays on our server in Switzerland for 90 days so it doesn't have to be created again.
And the other way round: dictate
You don't have to type replies. Say what the reply should cover and Tailwind Inbox turns it into a finished message in your style.

How can I read WhatsApp voice messages as text?
With Tailwind Inbox: the app automatically transcribes incoming WhatsApp and Telegram voice messages and shows the text in the chat bubble and in the notification. No need to forward them to a bot.
Does it work with Swiss German?
Yes. Swiss German voice messages are transcribed as standard German. Other languages such as English stay in their language.
Are my voice messages stored?
The recording isn't. The transcript stays on Tailwind Inbox's server in Switzerland for 90 days and is then deleted.
